I stinkin' love The Dollar Tree... isn't that a nice way to start off a post? Anyway, I was looking around my favorite aisle (frames and candles), when this holder caught my attention...
I loved the black metal and the pedestal look.
Then I began to look around the glassware. There were hurricanes and other votive candle holders, but I liked the simple look of this dish-thingy.

Ok... so I turned the candle holder upside-down (I liked the wide part on the bottom), then glued the dish to the top.
So. Well... My sweet, precious husband (no sarcasm here!) said to me, "I like it, but nothing else is going to fit in the bathroom!" So, I decided to make it all my own! I cut out my monogram using my cricut.

I have wanted to try monograms for a reallllly long time. I love how this turned out! Up next... oh there is so much... :)
Now... what do I use this for?! Candy? Jewelry? Candles? Please tell me what you think!
Wow! I love this! The monogram is very classy and goes great with the dish. I never know what to put in my glass things either! How about river pebbles or coffee beans and a candle?
ReplyDeleteWe have the same favorite aisle in the $Tree!
oohh! I love the idea of coffee beans! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteLove it! In the hurricanes in Southern Living magazines I saw them alternate dried beans. One had green and white layers, others had white and brown layers. Have fun! It's too cute!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love to think outside the box. We have a Winco grocery store here. They have a bunch of bins just past the produce section where they have a ton of great ideas to put inside there. I've got dried corn and black-eyed peas in containers in my living room. You probably don't want to fill it with something dark but yellow or green would look great. then you could bury a glass votive (just up to the top of the glass). It would look soooo cool lit up.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I am hitting the dollar store and see if I can find this, i am sooo copying. I love it.
ReplyDeleteCha Cha
Y'all are amazing! I would have never thought about stuff like coffee and dried beans! Thanks again!

ReplyDeleteYou are stinkin' crafty! I might steal this for Joel and Katie's shower or wedding. I might put M&M's in it for the tables at the wedding!
ReplyDeleteWhat's next?
ReplyDeleteJennifer,
ReplyDeleteThis turned out great and I love the monogram. I like the bean idea also. You could add a fat candle in the center of the beans too.
Cathy
P.S. thank for posting my button, I will add your link to my blogroll.
What a great idea. I saw somebody on another blog using colored salt in their glass stuff for filler.
ReplyDeleteLove the font on the monogram. If you did use it in the bathroom, you could fill it with cotton balls or qtips.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO pretty! I love the monogram! I love how you husband kindly said he likes it, but that nothing else would fit in your bathroom. Oh dear husband... there is always room... ALWAYS! :)
